The Save Our Boyertown Town Clock Foundation was formed in the spring of 2014 to address the capital construction needs of the iconic clock tower at Good Shepherd UCC, Boyertown. The church leadership was approached by interested community members previously, in hopes of assisting in what would obviously be a large and costly project. Initial hesitancy on the part of the church leaders stemmed from the fear that Good Shepherd would benefit from community fund-raising, perhaps raising the ire of other community churches. To keep the church separate from the project, it was decided to form a not-for-profit foundation. The symbolic value to the community of the clock and tower speaks for itself.
The Foundation has applied for non-profit status with the state of Pennsylvania. An architectural firm, Muhlenberg Greene Architects, Reading, PA, has been contracted to design and manage the project.
The Foundation intends to investigate various sources of financial support for this restoration. We look forward to sharing our story with all interested groups and individuals. Feel free to contact us to receive more information or about speaking with your organization.
